Here they are. It is different for everyone but these are the most important symptoms to look for. All women with PCOS experience at least some of these symptoms.
-Irregular periods (could mean periods every month but no ovulation, could mean priods with clots, breakthrough bleeding, or just no periods some months) -Excessive hair growth on face and body -Scalp hair thinning -Acne -Excess weight, sugar cravings, and inability to lose weight (plus abnormal blood lipid levels and a tendency to an apple shape) -Darkening of skin areas, on nape of neck, known as acanthosis nigricans -Skin tags -Gray-white breast discharge -Sleep apnea -Pelvic pain -Depression, anxiety, sleeps disturbances, and other emotional disorders
You may have blamed some of these things on your slow metabolism or your bad genes. We just put up with these symptoms for years until we either get so sick of being sick or we become so depressed that we seek help. In my case I wanted a baby so I sought help to conceive. Then a few years later my hair started to fall out. Another group of women seek help early but are misdiagnosed for many years as their symptoms get worse and worse along with depression and weight gain. This is why you must help yourself. Do not wait.
